Overseas Mission 2017
4th December 2017 - 5th December 2017
As decided by a members’ vote earlier in May, HEURO will be holding its 2017 Overseas Mission on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th December 2017 at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences. Arrival is recommended during the preceding weekend.
The purpose of the mission is for Norwegian and UK professionals mutually to gain an understanding of the HE systems, developments, challenges and issues in both countries, as well as to exchange good practice and provide an opportunity for universities to forge links and potentially partnerships. It is intended also that UK participants will gain an understanding of the relationship of an EEA country with the European Union and its implications for HE, Erasmus and student mobility.
The workshop will in addition include sessions on topics including:
– widening participation
– international work placements
– dual award programmes and collaborative activity outside of Erasmus+
– organising successful international weeks.
There will be a range of presentations and opportunities for discussion with colleagues from SIU, the Norwegian national agency, and Norwegian universities. There will also be an opportunity on Tuesday afternoon to visit other HE institutions in Oslo.
The workshop is ideal for experienced colleagues, but is also useful for staff who are new to European mobility and would like the opportunity to network and engage with colleagues from Norwegian universities.
The cost to HEURO member institutions is £145 per participant, which also includes the evening meal on Monday 4th December.
