Overseas Mission to Barcelona, Universitat Internacional de Catalunya [UIC]
The Overseas Mission this year will be to Barcelona, where we will be hosted by the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya [UiC].
The purpose of the mission is for Spanish, Catalan and UK professionals mutually to gain an understanding of their respective HE systems, developments, challenges and issues in international mobility, as well as to exchange good practice and provide an opportunity for universities to forge links and potentially partnerships.
There will be a range of presentations and opportunities for discussion with colleagues from the Spanish National Agency and universities in and around Barcelona, including a case study in effective promotion of outward mobility by colleagues at Pompeu Fabra University, where 700+ of their 13,000 students undertake an Erasmus or study abroad placement every year. Colleagues from the following universities will be in attendance:
Universitat Abat Oliva CEU
Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona [UAB]
Universitat de Barcelona [UB]
Universitat de Lleida
Universitat Internacional de Catalunya [UiC]
Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya [UPC]
Universitat Pompeu Fabra [UPF]
Universitat Rovira i Virgili [URV]
Universitat de Vic
The workshop is ideal for experienced colleagues, but is also useful for staff who are new to European mobility and would like the opportunity to network and engage with colleagues from Catalan universities.
The cost to HEURO member institutions is £145 per participant, which also includes an evening meal at El Asador de Aranda on Thursday 29th November.
